HOW TO USE THE POWER OF MUSIC TO YOUR ADVANTAGE

Hi dolls! I hope everyone is having a fabulous day.

If you have been following my social media platforms for a while, chances are, you know I am CRAZY about music. It is very near and dear to my heart & I deeply believe that music can get you through anything. Whether you need to transfer yourself into a specific mindset to succeed or you are working through something incredibly rough, it is in my experience that the musical melody will guide you.

HOWEVER, lol, I have a very eclectic taste in music. I can go from rapping every lyric of Cardi B to busting out Mary J. Blige to belting musicals! Again, it all depends on my mood & how I am using music as a tool.

Allow me to explain further: If I am not in the mood to hit the gym, I will find a song that is really going to get my heart rate up. I generally lean toward rock or rap for this. After hearing that fast-paced beat, it transforms my mood and I become motivated.

Every morning when I wake up, I almost always listen to ‘Hustlin’’ by Rick Ross. It sets the entire tone for my day. I immediately feel in control and am ready to slay whatever is coming my way (mindset baby)! I am not kidding, try it! Gangsta rap may not be your go-to, but this works with any song choice that gets you fired up.

When I am writing in my gratitude journal and having coffee in the morning, I usually throw on my inspirational playlist. It allows me to get lost in the moment and feel gratitude for having the day, that moment, that breath. I always feel incredibly centered and grateful once I complete this part of my morning routine.

Lastly, holy cow, can music get you through the dips. I remember sitting in the hospital for those three months after my car accident and being so over it. Instead of pushing those feelings away I faced them head on and put my headphones on and listened to a heck of a lot of Eminem and Jaz-Z. If I was angry, I allowed myself to be angry. If I needed to cry, I let it out. But the music was so dang healing and I will forever be grateful for it during such an intense time in my life.
