Quarantine Diary: Day 30

Day 30! Say what? I can’t believe we’ve been self-quarantined for a month now! Here's a little quarantine update:

I’m very much a go big or go home kind of gal and I have been taking this incredibly seriously. Freddie and I live in a very busy building so it’s risky to even leave our unit. I’ve been getting groceries delivered (and deep cleaning them profusely lol), and letting Benj out on the back patio. You could definitely say I am feeling that cabin-fever right now.

HOWEVER, I have been taking this time to truly recharge and focus on what’s important. Last Friday, my family and I all did a Virtual Happy Hour on Zoom and had so much fun with one another. We played games, shared stories and just hung out for a few hours! Living on the other side of the country from my family has always been difficult so being able to see their faces and hang out was a true treat. We’re going to do it again on Friday. I also have a date to video chat with my Grandma this afternoon, so I’m really stoked to see her!

The podcast has massively helped me to keep my sanity, lol. Having a creative outlet and an overall project to work on has been a life saver. Recently, we’ve been inviting guests on through video chat and it has been so lovely having that face to face connection. On top of that, being able to chat with the listeners is feeding my soul! I love hearing everyone’s stories.

The one thing I need to work on? My diet. LOL. GUILTY AS CHARGED! The first few weeks of quarantine, I was freaked out and didn’t care to stay active. But now that I’ve absorbed what’s happening and am much more centered, I’ve been focused on keeping my health in check. Since I get our groceries delivered, it can be difficult scoring the exact healthy items that I request. In return, there’s a lot of freezer food which, you can imagine. I started home workouts the other day and will continue to stick with it!

It is quite a crazy time we’re living in but I know that the longer we’re social distancing and staying home, the better and safer the outcome for our planet. With each day that passes, I know new data is collected, more research is conducted and a safer world is on the horizon. That thought right there always comforts me.

How is your quarantine going? Let me know below!
