Quarantine Diary: Day Eight
Hi Dolls!
Writing to you from bed right now. I was in need of some major TLC this evening so I completely unplugged, put on relaxing music, took a warm bubble bath & am now snuggled into freshly cleaned sheets. Ahhh, the little things in life.
Today was a pretty good day. I had a bit of trouble last night sleeping, which was not ideal but not surprising. How has your sleeping sched been with everything going on?
This afternoon, Freddie and I shot a podcast for The Freddie & Alyssa Show and zoomed in a special guest, Guy Wilson. He and Freddie worked with each other on Days of Our Lives and we both have always adored him. He’s a wildly bright, gracious and good-hearted individual. Connecting with him was such a treat! Having that video to video stimulation really did something for the soul. We’ll be releasing the episode tomorrow so be on the lookout.
During this self-quarantine, Freddie and I try to limit our trips to the grocery store as much as possible and are insanely intentional about staying safe and cautious. We have a smaller owned grocery shop near our home so we gear up with gloves and home-made masks. I wait in the car while he grabs the essentials and then I am there ready to open the doors, sanitize down everything including his hands. LOL. Serious times call for serious measures!
I’ve noticed connecting with loved ones has helped me keep my sanity. I’ve had a lot of conversations with close friends about how they’re feeling, what they’re up to and just nurturing meaningful relationships. I live for the photos I receive from my sister of my precious niece and the cuddles and playtime with our doggy, Benji.
I’m continuing to tune into social media less & less (reading too much of the news makes me CRAY CRAY)! I’ve been focusing on living in the present, continuing to work on my goals and listening to what my body needs. If I need to unplug and escape into a great book or tv show to ease my anxiety, you bet that is exactly what I am going to do.
I received the most beautiful piece of art in the mail the other day from my mom. It’s amazing how calming her artwork makes me feel. Each time I pass it in the house, I just bask in its beauty and smile knowing how much love and time she put into it. I will be sure to post some stories tomorrow. She truly out did herself on this piece and I am so grateful it is mine to cherish forever. Thank you, Mama!
That’s it for now, my loves. Going to tune into The Voice with my love and get some rest.
Until tomorrow, my friends.
All my love.
x,
A
