Photo Diary: Our Wedding at The Four Seasons Resort Orlando, Walt Disney World Resort!
“Your wedding day is going to be the best day of your life” is a saying I vividly remember hearing throughout my life. Being the hopeless romantic that I am, I couldn’t wait for this magical day to arrive.
On December 31st, 2020, at The Four Seasons Orlando, Walt Disney World Resort, I walked down the aisle to marry the love of my life, and let me just say, that statement was 100% spot on. My husband (ugh, I love saying that) Freddie and I eloped during the middle of a global pandemic. Pretty crazy, huh? If you know us, you know we are anything but traditional, and if something feels right in our hearts, we go for it. Getting married at this point in time was something we both knew was the best choice for us as a couple.
During such uncertain times, the one thing we were both certain of was our love for one another. After nearly a decade together, we knew we wanted to ring in the new year together as husband and wife. Once we began looking at the details, we knew eloping and offering a professional live-stream for our family would be the safest option to share our special day. As 2020 has proven, there is never a ‘perfect time’ in life to start anything, and you never know what’s around the corner. If it feels right in your heart, you just have to go for it - and that’s exactly what we did!
We landed on a wildly romantic and special date to us - New Year’s Eve. What we adored about eloping on New Year’s Eve was the opportunity to throw a big bash at a later date. How magical to celebrate love on your anniversary while the whole world is rejoicing, ringing in the New Year with you! My Grammy, Leta, and Late Gramps, Ken, also share the same wedding anniversary. If you’ve followed along my journey for a while, you know just how special carrying on this date meant to me.
I’m so happy to finally share our wedding day with you! The excitement, and even more so, thankfulness I’ve felt through this experience makes it even sweeter to share. The ceremony was romantic, tender, and meaningful. Our Little Benjamin was the only guest in attendance, dressed to the nines in his little tux and all.
Being a New Year’s Eve wedding, I knew this was the one day to go all out and chose a bold, glam, and dramatic look (I’m a Leo, what can I say)! I chose a shimmering gown that featured sparkling silver appliqué & sequins, covered in dreamy tulle. Our wedding flowers were a deep, romantic, red rose, paired with a red-velvet, one tier, white cake with gold foil decoration topped with matching roses. After the ceremony, we celebrated with an intimate, private dinner in the Lakeside West pavilion, complete with candles, soft music, and a hand-selected menu by the bride and groom.
With that all being said, I present to you a photo diary of the best day of our lives.
